What is self branding? Self branding is defined as building your own identity based on a clear perception about what you stand for, what makes you unique from others and the added value you bring to a job or situation. If you think that branding is just for celebrities, well-known athletes and companies, then your wrong! Today, people in all walks of life are starting to develop their own brand or what we called "personal or self-branding" for them to be in the competition and get ahead among their competitors.

Many people think that they don't need self branding as they do have a good job, their career are on the rise and keeps on going well, but no matter how secure do you think you are in your position, still you can deny the fact that you are in great competition with more people in your field than you think.

Previously, I discussed in my blog post regarding personal branding; how to brand your self, how to start self branding, the importance of self branding and more. This time I will discuss to you the importance of having your image in promoting your personal brand. In my own way I used my picture more often in my sites, social network profiles, business cards, flayers and everywhere and anywhere that I can! Self branding is not all about vanity, it is all about branding and awareness.

Here are the advantage in using your pictures in promoting your brand:

There are lots of people that can easily forgot your name, but can remember the face
People will recognize you and will help build comfort to the people even before they will meet you
It will help you make as many friends as possible
I don't know if you will believe that most people decide that they like the person as soon as they see the picture
It will help you build trust and transparency online

Of course it will take you an effort for this kind of self branding promotions by keeping your photo professional and updated, especially with your looks, your hairstyle and fashion style. This branding tool is worth it is you know on how to handled right, do it with dignity and be the agent not only be remembered by name, number, but the trusted face of yours.
